Job summary

HDR is seeking a highly experienced Business Class Director for Pump Stations and Pipelines. The role oversees the direction, coordination, and quality of design programs, working with related classes and regions to manage risk and ensure project success.

The position emphasizes leadership in engineering, client management, and staff development, with significant travel and a commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration for technical design leadership.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work with other business class directors and managers on cross-functional efforts.
• Commitment to quality, HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships with related business classes, market sectors, business groups and operations.
• Lead risk management through process and resource reviews, providing technical advisory services on selected projects, and claims prevention and avoidance activities.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the WBG Quality Manager in those areas.
• Oversee development and application of technical tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Mentor and direct Business Class leaders that help manage and execute the mission of the business class.
• Coordinate strategic hires within the business group.
