Job summary

Ridge and Partners LLP is delivering a landmark Bedford project and seeks a Director Project Superintendent (on-site PM) to act as the client’s on-site representative, lead contractor operations and drive delivery.

You will manage interfaces, logistics, quality, safety and programme objectives across multi-workstream environments, coordinating with contractors, consultants and vendors on a six-year programme.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics and programme management.
• Experience reviewing contractor performance and monitoring progress against planned works.
• Confidence managing relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Good working knowledge of quality management processes and site inspection practices.
• Commercial and contractual awareness with the ability to identify and escalation issues appropriately.
• The ability to anticipate problems early and coordinate practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the credibility to operate effectively within large project teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a full-time presence on site, representing the client in all operational construction matters.
• Monitoring contractor performance against programme commitments and challenging issues before they affect delivery.
• Overseeing site logistics, access arrangements, laydown areas and interface management across multiple workstreams.
• Reviewing short-term programmes and look-ahead schedules, identifying risks and supporting mitigation strategies.
• Undertaking quality observations on site, identifying concerns early and driving resolution with contractors.
• Supporting safe delivery by promoting best practice standards and monitoring compliance with site protocols.
• Managing relationships across contractors, consultants, specialist vendors and wider project stakeholders.
• Producing clear progress reporting covering programme, quality, resources, safety and emerging project risks.
• Supporting handover, commissioning, snagging, defect management and phased completion activities.
