Department Overview

The Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools that allow customers to focus on their mission and respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. The Director leads the Project Management and Solution Integration team, delivering NextGen 9-1-1 projects, including large Statewide, Regional, and major Municipal Public Safety Applications such as ALI Location Services, Emergency Call Handling, and NextGen 9-1-1 Core Routing solutions.

Job Description

Note: Candidates may reside anywhere in the US with access to a major airport.

Overview:

This leadership role oversees Project Managers responsible for delivering NextGen 9-1-1 Location, Routing, and Call Handling solutions. The role requires staying current on industry developments, understanding the competitive and economic environment, and leading the organization in innovative directions. The Director collaborates across teams, provides feedback and development guidance, and ensures organizational success. They are proactive in addressing challenges, making bold and calculated decisions, and responding to customer needs through feedback and service excellence.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Assess staff capabilities and build diverse, talented teams.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience or 15+ years managing complex deployments in a Public Safety environment.
  • Experience delivering NextGen 9-1-1 solutions is a strong plus.
  • Established relationships within the Public Safety and government sectors; active participation in industry groups preferred.
  • Contribute to policy decisions regarding NextGen 9-1-1 solutions and associated methodologies.
  • Experience across the value chain: opportunity development, sales, product, delivery, support, operations.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies and their application in diverse environments.
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Leadership in project management practices; PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage high-level customer relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, travel extensively (>50%), and demonstrate strong business acumen.

Salary Range: $145,500 - $272,800 USD, depending on experience and skills.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline plus 10+ years of project and people management experience, or 15+ years relevant experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Travel and Additional Details

Over 50% travel required. No relocation assistance provided. Position is for an experienced professional. Referral program available.
