Department Overview

The Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools that allow customers to focus on their mission and respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. The Director leads the Project Management and Solution Integration team, delivering NextGen 9-1-1 projects to our public safety customers. These projects include large Statewide, Regional, and major Municipal Public Safety Applications, such as ALI Location Services, Emergency Call Handling, and NextGen 911 Core Routing solutions.

Job Description

Note: Candidates may reside anywhere in the US with access to a major airport.

Overview:

This leadership role is responsible for Project Managers managing customer contracts by delivering NextGen 9-1-1 Location, Routing, and Call Handling solutions. The role requires staying current on industry developments, understanding the competitive and economic environment, and leading the organization in innovative directions. The Director collaborates within their team and with other departments, providing feedback, development guidance, and performance evaluations. They are proactive in facing challenges, making bold moves, and responding to customer needs through feedback and staff engagement.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of experience or 15+ years managing complex deployments in Public Safety.
  • Experience with NextGen 9-1-1 solutions is a strong plus.
  • Established relationships in the Public Safety market and industry group participation.
  • Contribute to policy decisions related to NextGen 9-1-1 solutions.
  • Experience across the value chain: Opportunity development, Sales, Product, Delivery, Support, Operations.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies and their application.
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Leadership and mentorship skills for project management professionals.
  • Strong project prioritization and deadline management skills.
  • Ability to evaluate team performance and organizational needs.
  • Business acumen and problem-solving expertise.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and develop skills continuously.
  • Experience managing in highly matrixed environments.
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage high-level customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with accountability.
  • Exceptional negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Deep understanding of product, technology, and business complexities.
  • Ability to interface with senior leadership and governmental bodies.
  • Experience managing costs and budgets for revenue-generating programs.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%+).

Target Base Salary Range: $145,500 - $272,800 USD. Salary varies based on experience and skills. The actual offer will be individualized.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline plus 10+ years of project management and 8+ years in a people management role, or 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
