Job summary

Haugland Group invites a Director of Construction to lead commercial strategy and delivery across large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, based in St. Croix, USVI. The role oversees procurement, contracts, risk, and change management on behalf of the owner and project partners.

You will drive preconstruction-to-execution alignment, manage diverse teams, and partner with senior leadership to maximize profitability, schedule adherence, and safety across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Willingness to relocate to St. Croix, USVI.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in infrastructure construction, utility, energy, transportation, or heavy civil markets.
• Proven success leading large-scale PDB, Design-Build, CM/GC, or CMAR delivery models.
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, design integration, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy and ensure compliance with contract obligations and procedures.
• Oversee change management, claims, payment mechanisms, performance provisions, and reporting.
• Manage large subcontract portfolios and risk mitigation plans.
• Develop strategies for variations, disputes, and contractual notices.
• Interface with legal teams, executives, clients, and partners to forecast outcomes.
• Provide executive oversight from pursuit through closeout on electrical and civil infrastructure projects.
• Drive productivity, profitability, and project outcomes across a portfolio.
