The Jonus Group is seeking a Director, Professional Liability & Cyber Claims for a nationally recognized insurance carrier. You will lead sophisticated cyber and technology-related claims from intake through resolution, with high-impact responsibilities at the intersection of technology and risk.

The role requires strong judgment and independent steering of complex claims, with focus on policy interpretation, reserves, and stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in claims handling (Professional Liability or related field).
• Experience with cyber or technology-related claims is highly desirable.
• Juris Doctor preferred but not mandatory.

Responsabilités

• Taking ownership of sophisticated cyber and technology-related claims.
• Interpreting policy language and making coverage determinations with speed and clarity.
• Directing investigations with internal and external experts per Financial Lines standards.
• Developing the claim story as it unfolds, assessing responsibility and loss.
• Establishing and managing indemnity and expense reserves with clear rationale.
• Producing focused reports that summarize risk, strategy, and status for stakeholders.
• Managing external partners such as defense counsel and forensic vendors.

• Maintaining an organized portfolio of active claims and driving files toward resolution.

Job Description

Our client, a nationally recognized insurance carrier, is seeking a Director, Professional Liability & Cyber Claims to serve as a senior individual contributor within their claims organization. You’ll be trusted with high-impact matters at the intersection of technology, risk, and insurance. This role calls for sharp judgment, clear communication, and the confidence to independently steer complex claims from intake through resolution.

Salary

• $110,000 to $120,000+/year base salary (based on experience)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in claims handling Professional Liability (D&O, E&O, EPL, Cyber, Fiduciary, etc.) or a closely related field


• Experience with cyber or technology-related claims is highly desirable


• Juris Doctor preferred but not mandatory


• Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses (resident/home state and additional states as needed)
