The Director, Product & Technology Partnerships is responsible for developing and scaling the technology partner ecosystem for Deluxe Merchant Services. As part of the Product organization, this role establishes strategic relationships with POS providers, payment gateways, terminal and hardware manufacturers, and software platforms to expand the capabilities and reach of Deluxe's payment solutions.

Serving as both a strategic partnership leader and technical advisor, the Director helps partners understand and integrate with the Deluxe payments platform, translates partner needs into actionable requirements, and collaborates with Product and Engineering to enable successful integrations. The role also establishes scalable processes for partner certification, onboarding, and ongoing enablement while identifying opportunities to address market needs, support evolving platform capabilities, and drive business growth.

This impactful position will play a key role in our product and growth strategy, focusing on the following responsibilities:

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and expand the technology partner ecosystem. Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic relationships with VARs, POS providers, payment gateways, terminal and hardware manufacturers, and software platforms. Serve as a technical and strategic point of contact for partners, advising on payment integration models, APIs, gateways, terminal connectivity, certifications, and platform capabilities. Lead technical discovery and solution discussions, translating partner requirements into actionable recommendations for Product and Engineering.

Maintain visibility into partner capabilities, integration models, certification status, and technical documentation to support effective partner engagement and ongoing platform compatibility.
  • Support product strategy and platform expansion. Partner with Product leadership to identify opportunities where third-party technologies and partnerships can expand Deluxe's capabilities, accelerate time to market, or address gaps in the product portfolio. Evaluate partners based on technical fit, market demand, strategic value, and their ability to support both current and evolving platform capabilities.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and business impact. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other stakeholders to align partnership initiatives with business priorities. Support the commercialization and adoption of partner-enabled solutions, ensuring partnerships deliver meaningful customer value, operational scalability, and sustainable revenue opportunities.
Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in payments, fintech, merchant services, technology partnerships, or integrated payment solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing technology partnerships, VAR relationships, or payment integration initiatives.
  • Strong technical understanding of payment technologies, including payment gateways, APIs, POS integrations, and payment processing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with POS providers, payment terminal manufacturers, payment gateways, or ISV ecosystems within the merchant acquiring industry.
  • Experience guiding technical integration discussions, certification processes, and partner onboarding without direct software development responsibilities.
  • Ability to evaluate technology partnerships from both a technical and business perspective, translating integration opportunities into product capabilities and commercial value.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and relationship management skills, with experience working across Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams.
