Crunchyroll in Los Angeles seeks a Principal-level Security Director to shape how engineering builds and operates securely at scale. Lead cross-team initiatives, drive secure-by-default patterns, and partner with engineering to integrate security into delivery.

You will own security strategy, build reference implementations, and influence security culture across engineering while protecting fans and streaming platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in information security, application security, cloud security, or software engineering.
• Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale security initiatives through technical influence.
• Strong fundamentals in authn/authz, session security, secure API design, data protection, threat modeling, and secure SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Drive security execution at scale with secure-by-default platform capabilities across services.
• Lead vulnerability intake, triage, ownership, SLAs, remediation planning, and verification.
• Coordinate with engineering to integrate security tooling into CI/CD and production.
• Embed threat modeling and security architecture into engineering workflows.
• Shape cross-team alignment and escalation for architectural risk decisions.
• Improve incident readiness and post-incident improvements in engineering.
• Partner with Global Security to translate policies into actionable engineering practices.
