Job description

What we believe

In the past two years, more than a trillion dollars have been invested in software companies at record prices. And in many cases, the underlying tech is the greatest enabler of the business strategy. But has the approach to govern technology value creation caught up to the magnitude of the risk?

We believe a better way is possible – a more programmatic, proactive approach to actively manage technology throughout the investment lifecycle – and that’s what we do.

Our role

We know that technology can create truly transformative change, and its role in business is only growing. Crosslake is here to support the changemakers and help them buy, build, and run better technology.

What we value

You could be a good fit for Crosslake if you see yourself reflected in our guiding values:

Service. We effect change by empowering others.

Curiosity. We believe great advice starts with deep understanding.

Credibility. Our expertise is earned and proven.

Commitment. It’s our privilege to serve clients in their critical moments.

Creativity. We are inspired by the constant pursuit of better.

Overview

Reporting to the Managing Director, this Director position is aligned with the product and technology buy-side and sell-side diligence practice. Product diligence services focus on the commercial aspects of product technology, bridging traditional technical diligence with market and commercial analyses. The Director is responsible for managing teams to deliver client engagements successfully, maintaining and evolving practice materials, supporting business development, and innovating new service offerings.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Client Service
  2. Manage client-facing project teams to deliver engagements that meet objectives on time and within budget.
  3. Serve as project lead or team member on engagements as needed.
  4. Practice Management
  5. Track practitioner skills and support recruiting efforts.
  6. Drive specific practice areas and set roadmaps and plans.
  7. Manage staffing of practitioners.
  8. Onboard and mentor new practitioners.
  9. Contribute to evolving practice templates and artifacts.
  10. Maintain relationships with practice partners (e.g., expert networks).
  11. Maintain and improve practice qualification materials.
  12. Business Development
  13. Cultivate and build relationships with top-tier clients (site visits, QBRs, etc.).
  14. Develop proposals for new diligence opportunities.
  15. Scope engagements; participate in sales calls and SOW writing as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the development and application of product management analysis frameworks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in management or strategy consulting.
  • Experience analyzing markets and customer needs, preferably in commercial diligence or growth strategy consulting.
  • Experience managing new software/SaaS offerings and product-level P&Ls.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and develop team members.
  • Experience working with executive-level clients in consulting engagements.
  • Willingness to actively contribute wherever needed.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Drive and energy in approaching critical tasks, with attention to the bottom line and predictable completion.
  • Technology industry experience; MBA or corporate strategy background preferred.
