Director of Strategic Finance

Remote | Up to $165,000 base + Bonus | 15–25% Travel

Position Overview

Our client—a high-growth company operating at the intersection of SaaS, healthcare, and automation—is seeking a forward-thinking and highly analytical Director of Strategic Finance. This position reports directly to the CEO and serves as both a strategic partner and operational leader, with responsibilities that span financial strategy, corporate development, and execution of key business initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and wants to play a central role in shaping and scaling an organization from the ground up.

This is a fully remote role with travel expectations between 15% and 25%.

Key Responsibilities

In this hybrid role that blends financial leadership with operational execution, you will:

  • Partner closely with the CEO on long-term strategic planning, annual budgeting, and financial forecasting to support company growth and investor objectives.
  • Build and manage dynamic financial models, KPI dashboards, and scenario analysis tools to guide data-driven decisions at the executive and board level.
  • Lead diligence efforts and deal execution for potential M&A transactions, collaborating directly with external stakeholders and the CEO throughout the process.
  • Analyze core business metrics, unit economics, pricing models, and return-on-investment scenarios to drive efficiency, improve margins, and evaluate growth opportunities.
  • Oversee cash flow management, optimize use of capital, and manage banking relationships and financing strategies.
  • Serve as the CEO’s right hand, helping drive alignment across departments, support high-impact cross-functional initiatives, and fill leadership gaps as needed.
  • Lead the preparation of investor presentations, board materials, and strategic communications.
  • Work with product, engineering, finance, marketing, and operations teams to prioritize execution of strategic goals and unblock critical paths to progress.
  • Act as a liaison with external CPA and audit firms to support accurate reporting, tax compliance, and audit readiness.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a strategic finance leader who brings a mix of analytical rigor, business acumen, and executional horsepower. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2–5 years of experience in private equity, with additional consideration given to candidates from investment banking, strategy consulting, or corporate strategy roles in high-growth companies.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and forecasting capabilities, with a sharp eye for translating data into actionable insights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience working with senior executives, board members, and investors.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently in a fast-paced environment and comfort with ambiguity.
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and ownership.
  • MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in SaaS, healthcare, or automation industries is a strong plus.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: Up to $165,000
  • Bonus: Performance-based bonus structure
