Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive and accurate cost estimates and schedules.
  • Onboard and ongoing training for estimating team members.
  • Maintain schedules and staff assignments.
  • Oversee construction management budgeting including conceptual estimates and design milestones.
  • Oversee general contracting bidding including self-perform requirements.
  • Collaborate with Miller-Davis' Project Executives on all projects.
  • Ensure coordination between estimating and other project team members, both internal and external.
  • Review of estimates with project and estimating team members.
  • Maintenance of historical cost and productivity data.
  • Oversee proper bid form preparation including completion of bid bond requests and any other required bid form documents.
  • Assess, apply, and refine preconstruction technology and tools.
  • Develop relationships with owners, architects, and project partners.
  • Pursue project leads; participate in business development and project interviews.
  • Oversee solicitation of subcontractor and supplier proposals.
  • Represent Miller Davis at pre-bid conferences and project meetings.

Cross-Departmental Coordination

The skillful management of preconstruction and estimating operations is a key responsibility of our Director of Preconstruction and include the following duties, among others:

Process Improvement
