Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Director of Power Generation to lead the development and execution of the company’s power generation program, focusing on baseload and bridging solutions to accelerate speed to market for data center campuses.

The role involves leading commercial contract negotiations, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, and driving strategies for cleaner fuels while managing multiple projects across sites.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience with power generation and/or energy supply management.
• Experience with complex commercial energy contract negotiations.
• Experience negotiating natural gas utility/pipeline extension and connection agreements.
• Financial or energy engineering experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal staff, utility providers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
• Communication of commercial, regulatory, market, technical and contractual details to all organizational levels.
• Strong understanding of the transmission and distribution grid.

Responsibilities

• Lead CyrusOne’s power generation strategy, including technology selection and commercial contract negotiations for power purchase agreements and energy as a service arrangements.
• Develop baseload power generation strategies and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to meet customer and company needs.
• Lead project management of power generation projects across multiple CyrusOne teams (Location, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Environmental).
• Develop and maximize revenue optimization strategies for local, nearby and onsite generation via demand response, ancillary services and energy arbitrage opportunities.
