Job summary

G Adventures seeks a Director of Platform Systems to lead evolution of software and infrastructure platforms, directing software engineering and DevOps to create a customer-centric platform for booking and operating trips across the G Travel Community.

The role requires architecting scalable AWS infrastructure, mentoring managers and senior engineers, and shaping multi-year migration programs, including offshore locations, in a fast-paced global environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software development, with leadership roles.
• 10+ years in technical management.
• 5+ years AWS solutions architecture & services (S3, ALB, ECS, RDS/Aurora, Elasticache, Lambda, SQS).
• Experience growing offshore teams.
• Proficient in CI/CD, logging, monitoring and dashboards.
• Familiar with Agile/Kanban methodologies.
• Ability to read code in multiple languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering and DevOps to evolve platforms.
• Oversee AWS infrastructure design, reliability, and scalability.
• Mentor managers and staff developers; grow offshore teams.
• Define technology vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with executives across the organization.
