Job summary

Brigham Young University seeks a Director of Phase 3 Curriculum within the School of Medicine. This full-time faculty role leads the final phase of the medical curriculum, including immersive global experiences, and collaborates with multiple associate deans to align Phase 3 with school goals and accreditation.

The position requires an MD/DO/MBBS or equivalent, leadership in medical education, and a track record in global health or experiential learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in advanced clinical medical education, residency preparation, transition-to-residency programming, or fourth-year medical student education.
• Experience teaching and mentoring medical students and initiating experiential learning.
• Proven leadership in undergraduate medical education and curriculum design.
• Experience coordinating clinical training or electives across departments.
• Ability to collaborate across institutions and innovate with global health programs.
• Experience designing immersive learning experiences and program assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of Phase 3 curriculum integration and Immersive Experience alignment.
• Serve as course director for the 8-12 week Global Health & Research Immersive Experience.
• Oversee advanced clinical experiences, sub-internships, and residency prep activities.
• Collaborate with faculty to continually improve Phase 3 experiences.
• Monitor outcomes, assessment, and program quality for accreditation readiness.
• Lead partnerships with clinical affiliates, communities, and international collaborators.
• Support student mentorship, career development, and professional identity formation.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
