Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV is seeking a pharmacist with strong health-system administration experience. The role requires licensure in WV/PA/MD/OH or eligibility with licensure within 100 days of hire and a background in inpatient health-system operations.

Qualifications

• Cannot function as Pharmacist-in-Charge until fully licensed.
• Seven years inpatient and/or health-system pharmacy admin experience OR residency plus 4–5 admin years OR residency plus 4 years admin depending on path.

Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• 1.Must possess a current license as required by the state board where services will be provided or be license eligible. Licensure must be completed within 100 days of hire:
• WV: Pharmacist license through the West Virginia State Board of Pharmacy
• PA: Pharmacist license through the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy
• MD: Pharmacist license through the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
• OH: Pharmacist license through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy

NOTE:

• * While waiting on licensure, employee may not practice pharmacy under West Virginia law and may not be allowed within the licensed pharmacy area without direct and guided supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• * Employee may not function as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or perform any function of a practicing pharmacist.
• * Incumbents will refrain from engaging in any responsibilities that necessitate a pharmacist's license until they have obtained full licensure.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1.Completion of one of the following combinations of experience:
• 2.Completion of a health-system pharmacy administration residency program AND 4 years of administrative experience OR;
• 3.Completion of a non-health-system pharmacy administration residency program AND 5 years of administrative experience OR;
• 4.Seven years inpatient and/or health-system pharmacy administrative experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• 1. Master of Business Administration, Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration, or Master in Public Health.
• 2. Board Certification in a clinical pharmacy specialty.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1. Foundation knowledge in retail pharmacy and specific knowledge of 340B.

For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:

• 1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
