Job summary

Maven AGI, Inc. seeks a Director, People Business Partner to scale the People function during rapid growth. This hybrid in-office role in Boston Back Bay combines strategic partnership with hands-on execution across onboarding, performance, policies, and employee relations.

You will partner with senior leaders, own core People processes, and design scalable playbooks to support a fast-moving startup in the AI-driven customer experience space. Strong judgment and proactive ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR, People Operations, or related experience.
• Experience in venture-backed, high-growth technology companies is a plus.
• Able to partner with senior leaders and coach managers on performance and organizational changes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders on organizational and People challenges, providing judgment and perspective.
• Own and improve core People practices across onboarding, promotions, performance, leaves, and offboarding.
• Advise and coach managers on performance, feedback, employee relations, promotions, and terminations.
• Navigate complex employee matters with sound judgment balancing employee experience and business needs.
• Design and run company-wide performance reviews and promotions cycles with scalable processes.
• Develop, document, and scale People policies, processes, and playbooks.
• Own and evolve the employee handbook to stay compliant and practical.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and proactively update practices as the company scales.
• Identify emerging People needs and develop practical solutions.
• Translate business needs into People programs and processes.
• Collaborate with People & Talent Operations to build efficient processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve People workflows.
• Move quickly from problem to action with the right people and information.
• Contribute across both strategic and hands-on execution to build the People foundation.
