Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Sr. Director, People AI Experience Team to lead AI strategy across People processes and employee experiences, partnering with enterprise AI and HR leaders to ensure responsible, measurable outcomes.

This role drives workforce readiness, change management, and a scalable operating model to embed AI across the organization, with broad influence across Talent Acquisition, Learning, Total Rewards, and HR Operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience driving enterprise-scale organizational transformation or related initiatives.
• Experience in HR technology, workforce development, employee experience, or digital transformation.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives, align cross-functional stakeholders, and lead enterprise-wide initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong governance, portfolio management, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Exceptional communication skills, translating AI and technology concepts into practical workforce implications and business outcomes.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive adoption of emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy for adopting, governing, and scaling AI across People processes and employee experiences.
• Own the People AI roadmap, intake and prioritization model, adoption strategy, governance cadence, and operating model.
• Partner with Enterprise AI, Corporate Technology, Learning, Finance, Communications, and business leaders to align AI initiatives with enterprise priorities.
• Build workforce readiness plans, learning journeys, adoption frameworks, and change strategies for AI adoption.
• Guide an enterprise workflow redesign program to reimagine work with AI and enable effective human-AI collaboration.
• Identify and prioritize AI opportunities and drive implementation across the employee lifecycle in partnership with Talent teams.
