Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Director of Payroll Operations & Systems to lead enterprise-wide payroll strategy and delivery across the U.S. and Canada. This role focuses on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, with governance for Workday Payroll and related timekeeping capabilities.

The ideal candidate will drive payroll transformation, optimize controls, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment, partnering with HR, Finance, IT, and external providers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience in a large multi-state org.
• Expertise in payroll operations, taxes, garnishments, multi-state regulations, year-end processing.
• Experience leading managers and multi-layered teams in high-volume payroll.
• Experience with large-scale payroll systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle HCM).
• Led payroll transformations, system implementations or process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, SOX, risk management.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic payroll roadmap aligned with HR, Finance and technology.
• Lead end-to-end payroll operations across multi-state workforce.
• Establish payroll policies, controls, and service standards with KPIs.
• Oversee payroll taxes, garnishments, year-end processing and reporting.
• Provide governance for Workday Payroll and timekeeping capabilities.
• Lead payroll transformation initiatives and system integrations.
