Job summary

eBay is seeking a Director, Payments Product to advise on payments products from ideation through launch and beyond. You will partner with Product and Engineering, translate complex payments regulations into actionable guidance, and help shape the next generation of payments at a global marketplace.

You will work with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to build scalable, compliant payment experiences that drive innovation and trust for buyers and sellers around the world.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with significant payments counseling experience for fintechs, financial services, or tech companies.
• Meaningful experience partnering directly with Product and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Deep knowledge of payments ecosystem and applicable legal/regulatory frameworks for merchants, marketplaces or tech platforms.
• Familiarity with money transmission, electronic funds transfers, consumer protection, card networks, and sanctions requirements.

Responsibilities

• Embed in Product and Engineering teams from ideation through launch and beyond to guide legal and regulatory design.
• Advise on new payments products, features and experiences with actionable guidance for teams.
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical product solutions that balance risk and innovation.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Privacy, Operations and Legal to scale processes.
