Job summary

eBay is seeking a technically minded attorney to lead legal architecture for financial services and regulatory aspects in M&A, integrating acquired tech into the marketplace. You will be the primary specialized consultant for acquired businesses and their embedded lawyers, helping launch managed payments, stored value, financing, and insurance within the eBay framework.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar or a Canadian provincial law society.
• 6+ years of legal experience in payments and financial services law in fintech, marketplace, or top-tier practice.
• Experience with US Money Transmission, Regulation E, BSA/AML, RPAA, and card networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory diligence for payments and financial services in M&A activity.
• Manage licensing and compliance infrastructure for acquired targets.
• Guide integration of payment systems into eBay's global Managed Payments ecosystem.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across M&A, Compliance, Tax, Privacy, Internal Audit, and Corporate legal.
• Negotiate complex partnerships with banks, processors, and card networks tied to integration workstreams.
