Job summary

Lee Health in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Director of Outpatient Laboratory to oversee day-to-day clinical and business operations across OP lab service lines, including Regional Lab specimen receiving and processing, lab courier services, OP Lab Customer Service, and all lab draw stations.

This leader manages non-licensed personnel, develops training programs, ensures staff competency, and collaborates with the Administrative Lab Director on system-wide initiatives for OP lab services.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. BS or BA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of recent Supervisory / Management experience in a clinical laboratory required.
• Certification: NA
• License: NA
• Other: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Requires strong analytical skills, good time management skills, and ability to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical and business operations of the outpatient laboratory service lines.
• Manage non-licensed personnel in pre-analytical and post-analytical support functions.
• Develop training programs and staff competency.
• Participate with laboratory leadership in system-wide initiatives for OP lab services.
• Promote excellent customer service and quality/safety through training and performance improvement.
