Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Business Development Director, Optical Systems (TS/SCI) to lead customer engagement and capture efforts in the national security space. Based in Littleton, CO, you will drive strategic partnerships, proposals, and bid management while coordinating with engineering and operations teams.

You will manage relationships with customers, teammates, and industry partners, using Salesforce to forecast demand and track opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in business development, program management, or systems engineering within aerospace.
• Experience selling to national security space sectors.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance; ability to work SCI and SAP/SAR programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely responses to customer technical inquiries regarding Optical Systems and related products.
• Draft proposals and compliance matrices for customer requirements and bids.
• Develop and manage relationships with customers, partners, and industry groups to drive opportunities.
• Utilize Salesforce to track leads, opportunities, forecasts, and KPIs.
• Support bid/proposal budgets and coordinate with capture teams on technical and pricing issues.
• Lead writing for RFP responses and coordinate marketing collateral with Communications.
• Monitor competitive landscape and assist in pricing strategy and product development roadmaps.
