Job summary

Levain Bakery is seeking a Director of Operational Programs based in NYC to own cross‑functional programs, streamline systems, and scale new initiatives across our bakeries. You’ll partner with field leaders to remove administrative burdens and standardize processes for faster, more reliable execution.

You will blend commercial vision with field feedback, operational data, and bakery workflows to design, test, pilot, and scale programs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional initiatives with strong execution, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executive‑ready updates and influence
• Proficiency in process mapping and workflow analysis
• Proven experience designing business processes that improve user experience and efficiency
• A strong collaborator who can drive decisions balancing data and intuition

• Read and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Own program performance: deliver complex cross‑functional programs with stakeholders and priorities
• Define program roadmaps and execution plans, tracking KPIs, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and risks
• Collaborate with senior leaders across marketing, supply chain, commissary, learning & development, and operations
• Deliver polished, executive‑ready communications on status, outcomes, risks, and impact
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies; propose data‑backed solutions and drive resolution
• Identify root causes and implement scalable improvements for quality and efficiency
• Own full lifecycle of changes from implementation through adoption and measurement
• Prepare and deliver monthly/quarterly business reviews and leadership updates
• Create org‑wide operating rhythms with tight feedback loops between teams
• Plan and execute the retail calendar and ensure stakeholder buy‑in and support
• Travel to bakeries in other markets as needed for pilots and launches
• Stand/walk for up to 8 hours; lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Read and communicate in English; accommodate bakery hours including early mornings/evenings/weekends
