Job summary

Good Shepherd Services, Ltd. seeks a Director of Mentoring Services and Resource Development to lead a division-wide mentoring initiative, integrating mentoring into program culture and youth development practices.

You will recruit, train, and support volunteer mentors, collaborate with program leaders and community partners, and ensure trauma-informed, youth-centered mentoring models across Brooklyn, Manhattan, and The Bronx.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Human Services, Youth Development, Psychology, Public Administration, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, mentoring, workforce development, education, or related human services programs.
• Experience developing and implementing programs across multiple sites or departments.
• Experience recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting volunteers.
• Strong facilitation, training, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with diverse youth populations and communities.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a division-wide mentoring strategy aligned with YFWB mission, values, and goals.
• Embed mentoring as a core component of program culture and youth development practices.
• Assess and refine mentoring recruitment, training, onboarding, and support systems.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to create a supportive mentoring culture.
• Establish policies, tools, and quality standards for consistent mentoring practices.
• Monitor outcomes and use data to improve mentoring effectiveness and participant experiences.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
• Recruit, train, and support Mentoring Facilitators across programs.
• Develop facilitator training curriculum and professional development.
• Collaborate to prepare youth for mentoring participation.
• Support facilitators with regular check-ins and communities of practice.
• Coordinate mentor recruitment from internal staff, volunteers, and partners.
• Build partnerships with organizations to source mentors.
