Job summary

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) seeks a Director of Workforce Development to lead non-credit workforce training initiatives and partnerships with business and industry.

Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor, you will develop, implement, and evaluate programs, coordinate scheduling, and oversee trainers and grant projects.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and supervisory experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

The Director of Workforce Development works under the supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Workforce Education and Training and is responsible for all activities related to the UACCM workforce development program. The Director’s primary responsibilities will be working with Business and Industry partners to development, implement, and schedule non-credit workforce training programs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Develop, coordinate, promote, and evaluate workforce training programs that support regional workforce needs and economic development efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with business, industry, government agencies, workforce organizations, and community stakeholders to identify training needs and workforce opportunities.
  • Conduct needs assessments with employers and develop customized training solutions.
  • Coordinate the scheduling, implementation, and assessment of non-credit workforce training programs, short-term credentials, and professional development offerings.
  • Facilitate specialized training when appropriate for businesses and industries.
  • Collaborate with academic divisions and college departments to align workforce initiatives with credit programs, career pathways, and community needs.
  • Coordinate outreach activities with secondary schools, career centers, and community organizations to promote workforce education and training opportunities.
  • Recruit, select, supervise, and evaluate full- and part-time trainers and facilitators of short-term training courses as needed.
  • Maintain accurate program, enrollment, and training records and provide required reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, management, and reporting requirements of workforce-related grants and special projects.
  • Represent the College and Division in professional manner at civic meetings, statewide meetings, and other events.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives that support the mission and goals of Workforce Education and Training and UACCM.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in economic/workforce development, community development, industrial relations, business or a related field.
  • Three years of supervisory experience

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s degree with an emphasis in economic/workforce development, community development, industrial relations, business or a related field.
  • Prior work experience in higher education, workforce training, economic development, or business and industry engagement.
  • Experience managing grants, contracts, or workforce-funded initiatives.

Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience, $60,000 - $70,000
