Job summary

NorthPointe Woods, a Cardinal Senior Living community in Battle Creek, seeks a Director of Wellness to lead clinical excellence. You will own resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and regulatory readiness, building systems that ensure consistent, high-quality care.

This role requires clinical leadership, coaching, and clear communication with residents, families, and staff. You will partner with leadership to align clinical performance with community goals.

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license.
• Senior living/long-term care clinical experience.
• Previous clinical leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of assessments, care planning, medication management, documentation, and resident-care practices.
• Experience coaching and developing nursing or care teams.
• Strong regulatory and compliance awareness.
• Excellent organization and follow-through.
• Confidence making decisions within scope and escalating when needed.
• Clear communication with residents, families, employees, providers and leadership.
• Experience as a Director of Wellness or similar clinical leader is preferred.

NorthPointe Woods, a Cardinal Senior Living community in Battle Creek, is looking for a Director of Wellness who takes clinical excellence personally.

We want someone who knows what good looks like, notices when something is off, asks the next question, and does not need to be reminded to follow through.

This role is for a clinical leader who wants real ownership of resident care, clinical systems, documentation, medication management, team capability, and regulatory readiness.

You will have the autonomy to use your expertise, the responsibility to build strong systems, and the expectation that your department operates with consistency and discipline.

What You’ll Own

As Director of Wellness, you are the clinical leader of NorthPointe Woods.

You’ll own:

• Resident assessments and individualized care planning




• Changes in condition and appropriate clinical follow-through




• Medication management and medication-administration standards




• Clinical documentation and record accuracy




• Admissions, transitions of care, and level-of-care decisions




• Infection prevention and resident safety




• Regulatory readiness and clinical compliance




• Resident and family clinical communication




• Clinical staffing, onboarding, training, and competency




• Development and accountability of nurses, Med Techs, and care staff




• Coordination with physicians, pharmacies, home health, hospice, and other providers




• Identification and correction of recurring clinical or process gaps

The expectation is not simply that problems get handled.

The expectation is that you understand why they happened and strengthen the system so they are less likely to happen again.

You’ll coach through observation, documentation, clinical judgment, and results. You’ll recognize strong performance, address gaps directly, and make sure employees understand both the task and the reason behind it.

Clinical Leadership + Operations

Great resident care does not happen in isolation.

You’ll partner closely with the Executive Director and community leadership to connect clinical performance with:

You will be expected to bring clinical facts, sound judgment, and clear recommendations to the table.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with clinical depth, strong judgment, and a high personal standard.

Ideally, you bring:

• Active LPN or RN license




• Senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or comparable clinical experience




• Previous clinical leadership experience




• Strong knowledge of assessments, care planning, medication management, documentation, and resident-care practices




• Experience coaching and developing nursing or care teams




• Strong regulatory and compliance awareness




• Excellent organization and follow-through




• Confidence making decisions within your scope and escalating appropriately when needed




• The ability to communicate clearly with residents, families, employees, providers, and leadership

Experience as a Director of Wellness, Director of Nursing, Wellness Director, Clinical Manager, or similar clinical leader is strongly preferred.
