Job summary

Harris County's Office of the County Engineer seeks a Director of Capital Projects to lead the vertical construction portfolio, directing planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, inspection, and warranty activities. You will coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Texas or another state, with ability to obtain Texas PE within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for OCE’s vertical capital projects portfolio across design and construction phases.
• Establish division-wide project delivery standards and priorities in line with County policies.
