Job summary

Harris County seeks a Precinct Coordinator to lead architectural and engineering projects within the Precinct portfolio. You will communicate with the County Engineer’s Office and Precinct leadership to align scope, schedule, and budget with strategic objectives.

As part of the leadership team, you will advise executives on priorities, funding strategies, and policy implications while maintaining discretion with sensitive information and balancing technical and political considerations.

Qualifications

• Requires leadership experience at a senior level with independent judgment.
• Experience communicating complex technical information to executives.
• Experience managing capital programs and large public infrastructure portfolios.
• Ability to work with elected officials and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Liaises between Office of the County Engineer and Precinct staff; represents Precinct interests.
• Advises leadership on project priorities, funding, and policy implications; prepares executive briefings.
• Directs project delivery teams to ensure efficient management of portfolio.
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Precinct’s projects (capital, maintenance, roads, bridges).
• Directs scoping and programming of future projects with clear scope, schedule, and budget.
• Tracks draft agreements and resolves negotiation challenges.
• Prepares and reviews proposals, status reports, and invoices aligning with priorities.
• Partners with executive management to improve internal processes for project execution.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by Chief/Deputy Chief of Staff.
