ADP is hiring a Director of UX Design to lead a small team, establish design governance, and contribute hands-on as an IC across AI-powered HCM workflows. You will bridge senior stakeholders with engineering and product, shaping scalable design processes while delivering high-quality user experiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on UX design experience.
• Led and developed designers; provide feedback while protecting product quality.
• Active practitioner with recent IC work in portfolio.
• Built or influenced design governance and gained adoption by tech partners.
• Strong systems thinking; understand ripple effects of design decisions.
• Credible in technical conversations with product managers, engineers, and platform architects.
• Experience integrating GenAI / LLM tooling into workflows.
• Experience designing AI-powered or agentic products.
• Comfortable building processes from scratch in lean environments.
• Bonus: payroll, tax, HR, fintech or regulated domains experience.
• Extra bonus for chat-based or GenAI-powered products.

Responsibilities

• Design governance: build a review and gating process for new components and capabilities across the platform.
• IC design work: collaborate with product, engineering, and UX research across domains; contribute hands-on work.
• People leadership: manage and develop a small design team and establish strong critique cadence.
• Cross-functional influence: represent design in planning and leadership reviews; translate rationale for diverse audiences.
