Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine seeks a Senior Clinical Research Director to lead TBICoE-related clinical studies at Naval Medical Center San Diego.

The SCRD will plan and execute traumatic brain injury research, manage protocols, and translate findings to expand programming. This position requires DoD research experience, regulatory knowledge, and a track record of independent judgment and leadership.

Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree [MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or relevant terminal doctorate degree].
• Minimum 5-10 years of training or experience in clinical and/or research activities in traumatic brain injury.
• 5-10 years of experience in research with peer‑reviewed publications and presentations.
• 2-5 years management experience preferred.
• DoD/VA systems experience preferred; must complete CITI/HIPAA training.
• License to practice in one of the 50 states/DC/territories; current and unrestricted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and manages clinical research from strategic vision to proposal development, execution and findings distribution.
• Supports implementation, communication, and ongoing execution of research and program evaluation.
• Prepares grant/funding applications, develops contracts, writes progress reports for sponsors, and tracks program metrics.
• Develops and modifies study budgets; ensures budget compliance and metrics tracking.
• May include budget planning/forecast and attendance at required training.
