Job summary

The City of St. Peters is seeking an experienced municipal leader to direct and coordinate the Transportation and Facilities Services Group (TFS).

This role provides strategic and administrative leadership over transportation and facilities infrastructure, including operation, maintenance, grant administration, and capital improvement program planning and implementation. Normal Shift: Mon - Fri, with regular Board meeting attendance and occasional evening or weekend meetings as necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field with 5 years of relevant municipal experience; or equivalent combination
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial administration
• Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and infrastructure management standards
• Knowledge of contract preparation, procurement, and administration
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, asset management, and infrastructure preservation

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership and oversight for Transportation and Facilities Services Group
• Lead staff development including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Develop and manage operating budget and contracts in compliance with policies and laws
• Establish maintenance programs, staffing plans, and priorities
• Oversee infrastructure and city facilities including planning and improvements
• Develop long-range maintenance and capital improvement strategies
• Direct planning and implementation of capital projects from budgeting to warranty
• Negotiate and administer contracts and oversee procurement
• Develop standards to support safety and regulatory compliance
• Monitor service delivery and address operational challenges with practical solutions
• Communicate with City Administrator, Mayor, Board, and partners
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and city safety standards
