Norfolk State University invites applications for the Director of Testing Services.
The role serves as Chief Test Administrator for campus and national tests, coordinating admissions, placement, and certification exams, while improving services for students and the community.
The Director of Testing Services will serve as the Chief Test Administrator for all campus developed and national tests administered at Norfolk State University. Responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating administration of admissions, diagnostic/placement, competency, and certification tests and assessments; to continually improve services provided to NSU students, prospective students, faculty and the Hampton Roads community. The Director will represent the University at the National College Testing Association annual conference. The Director will make national and local presentations, as required. The Director will develop training materials, provide training, and supervise proctors to ensure the quality and integrity of test delivery and the testing environment in accordance with National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards and national test sponsor regulations. The Director will be responsible for executing annual contracts with national test sponsors on behalf of the University. Duties will include controlling the security of all testing materials received, retained in inventory, and shipped, by strictly following all guidelines and procedures set by the testing entities. The Director will maintain records of revenue paid to the University by national test sponsors and work with Accounts Receivable to establish a process for receiving administrative test fee payments from test-takers. The Director will supervise the administration of proctored online exams or other remote tests. The Director will assist faculty in creating online course evaluations for formative and summative assessment of student learning outcomes. The Director will oversee records management to ensure compliance with all Title III, SACSCOC, University, and national test sponsor policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. The Director will maintain Testing Center utilization records and develop a comprehensive annual Testing Center operations and assessment report. The Director will work with appropriate University offices and departments to research and implement innovative digital technologies to promote quality testing services for faculty, students, staff, and the community. This position reports to the Vice Provost.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $94,000
