Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 7–10 years of technology leadership experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or healthcare technology preferred.
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, cybersecurity, vendor management, project mgmt, budgeting, and business process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, workforce efficiency, regulatory compliance, data analytics, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and automation.
  • Own enterprise applications including UKG, Therap, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Power BI, Adobe Sign, and others.
  • Lead system upgrades, integrations, new functionality, and continuous improvement.
  • Redesign workflows and automate processes across onboarding, payroll, hiring, and more.
  • Manage technology vendors, contracts, SLAs, budgets, and accountability.
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy, MFA, disaster recovery, security audits, HIPAA compliance, and risk assessments.
  • Develop organizational reporting capabilities and executive dashboards across multiple data domains.
  • Lead adoption and governance of Microsoft 365 tools and Copilot capabilities.
  • Oversee infrastructure including networks, hardware, licensing, and asset management.
  • Lead enterprise technology projects from planning to implementation.

Position Summary

The Director of Technology & Business Systems provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s technology ecosystem. Reporting to the CEO, this role partners across departments to optimize business systems, drive digital transformation, oversee cybersecurity and vendors, and align technology investments with organizational priorities. The position is responsible for both day-to-day technology operations and the long-term technology roadmap.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, workforce efficiency, regulatory compliance, data analytics, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and automation.
  • Serve as the business owner and strategic administrator for enterprise applications including UKG, Therap, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Power BI, Adobe Sign, and other applicable systems.
  • Lead system upgrades, integrations, new functionality, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with department leaders to redesign workflows and automate manual processes across areas including onboarding, payroll, hiring, employee self-service, clinical documentation, quality reporting, incident reporting, purchasing, and document management.
  • Manage technology vendors, contracts, service levels, renewals, performance, budgets, and accountability.
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy, MFA, endpoint protection, disaster recovery, business continuity, security awareness, HIPAA compliance, security audits, and risk assessments.
  • Develop organizational reporting capabilities, executive dashboards, and access to operational, workforce, quality, clinical, financial, and compliance data.
  • Lead adoption and governance of Microsoft 365 tools including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Power Automate, Power Apps, Planner, and future Copilot capabilities.
  • Oversee infrastructure including networks, hardware, telecommunications, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, printers, backup systems, cloud services, licensing, and asset management.
  • Lead enterprise technology projects from planning through implementation, including system optimization, SharePoint redesign, AI implementation, workflow automation, software implementations, and data integrations.
  • Build strong partnerships across Human Resources, Finance, Clinical Services, Nursing, Residential Operations, Quality, and the Executive Team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible technology leadership experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, human services, behavioral health, nonprofit, or healthcare technology preferred.
  • Required experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, vendor management, cybersecurity, business systems, project management, technology budgeting, and business process improvement.
  • Preferred experience with UKG, Therap, HIPAA, DDS or Medicaid-funded organizations, Power Platform, AI tools, and Power BI.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, communication, collaboration, analytical skills, change management expertise, executive presence, and continuous improvement mindset.
