Job summary

New Teacher Center seeks a Director, Technology to drive daily technology operations, translate strategy into reliable, secure systems, and oversee AI initiatives that reduce administrative friction, protect data, and empower staff.

Reporting to the Vice President, Technology and Impact, you will convene the AI Taskforce, manage enterprise SaaS, supervise cybersecurity, and mentor a team while collaborating with program units to scale tech-enabled educator support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Proven track record navigating emerging tech trends.
• Deep understanding of AI frameworks and the ethical implications of AI in education.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST) and data privacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational testing and integration of emerging technologies to modernize workflows.
• Serve as lead coordinator for internal AI Taskforce and align cross-functional teams.
• Partner with Program teams to evaluate and integrate technologies into core offerings.
• Define and oversee enterprise SaaS architecture, security, and data protection.
