Job summary

The Tech Interactive in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Director, Center to lead strategic vision, partnerships, and education initiatives at the Center. This hybrid, executive role reports to the VP of STEM Programs and drives frontier AI education, research practice collaborations, and multi-year planning.

You will steward relationships with universities, industry, donors, and policymakers, while managing budgets and a diverse team of researchers and educators.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of executive leadership experience in edtech, human-centered technology policy, or related fields.
• Proven track record building and scaling interdisciplinary initiatives at the intersection of technology, human flourishing, and public education.
• Strong fluency in emerging technologies (Generative/Frontier AI) with grounding in learning science.
• Executive-level fundraising, communication, and partnership skills; comfortable engaging tech executives and policymakers.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets, cross-functional teams, and external advisory boards.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the vision, 5-year strategy, and long-term roadmap for the Center.
• Position The Tech Interactive as a premier, non-partisan hub for human agency and digital thriving.
• Monitor rapid technological shifts and shape agile, research-backed programmatic responses.
• Lead lifecycle of core Center initiatives and rapid-response educational assets.
• Oversee educator institutes, curricula targeting algorithmic bias and media literacy.
• Host executive summits and multi-sector convenings connecting tech leaders with researchers and policymakers.
• Build and mentor a high-performing cross-functional team; manage partnerships and fundraising.
