Summary:

We are looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee technical accounting and manage the accounting processes for all of Science Exchange’s departments and entities. This position reports to the SVP of Finance & Accounting.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing technical accounting and financial statement audit procedures. You should be comfortable researching technical accounting matters and developing and communicating your recommendations. This role involves managing treasury processes, so relevant experience in this area is essential. We seek a self-starter who is ambitious, energetic, adaptable, and excited to work in a fast-growing Life Sciences SaaS environment. A passion for technical excellence, automation, and efficiency in finance is important.

About the role:

1. Oversee technical accounting and manage accounting processes across all departments and entities.
2. Develop policies and procedures aligned with corporate objectives.
3. Ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
4. Analyze new applications of accounting standards and policies.
5. Implement policies for new audit requirements.
6. Ensure accurate disclosures in financial statements.
7. Lead accounting and financial due diligence for acquisitions.
8. Guide and educate on technical accounting issues.
9. Prepare accounting memos for financial reporting.
10. Maintain global accounting processes and policies.
11. Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. CPA certification required.
2. Minimum 5+ years relevant experience with an accounting license.
3. Public accounting audit experience, preferably in technology or banking sectors.
4. Extensive knowledge of US GAAP.
5. Strong technical skills, including experience with enterprise ERP systems; familiarity with Sage Intacct is strongly preferred, experience with Salesforce is desirable.
6. Strong analytical and project management skills.
7. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
8. Ability to present and influence credibly at all organizational levels, including executive and C-level.
9. Self-starter capable of thriving in a high-growth, dynamic environment.

Compensation:

The US-based salary range for this full-time position is $135,000-$175,000, DOQ. Compensation is determined by role, seniority, skills, experience, and education. Benefits include incentive compensation, health, dental, and vision coverage.
