Job summary

Konstruct Staff partners with a rapidly growing public company in AI cloud computing and data center infrastructure to appoint a Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting in New York City. This senior role reports to the CFO and leads SEC reporting and technical accounting while scaling the accounting function.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with deadlines, able to set direction, and comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment as the business scales globally.

Qualifications

• Strong SEC reporting and technical accounting experience.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memoranda.
• Public-company reporting experience.
• Big Four audit or capital markets accounting advisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Experience coordinating with external auditors.
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on.
• Strong ownership, accountability and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation and delivery of SEC filings.
• Lead technical accounting research and prepare supporting memoranda.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit requirements.
• Maintain reporting timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
• Partner closely with corporate accounting and finance leadership.
• Support complex transactions, accounting projects and ad hoc requirements.
• Improve reporting processes, controls and documentation.

• Take direct ownership of deliverables when additional support is required.

Location: New York City, hybrid 2-3 days per week

We are partnering with a rapidly growing public company operating across AI cloud computing and data center infrastructure to appoint a Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will take ownership of SEC reporting and technical accounting while helping develop the accounting function as the business continues to scale.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a lean, fast-moving organization. The successful candidate must be comfortable setting direction, managing deadlines and personally stepping into the detail when needed.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers the opportunity to partner directly with the CFO and become a key leader within the accounting organization. Based on performance, the position could develop into broader responsibility across corporate accounting, SEC reporting and technical accounting.

Candidates must be based in or within commuting distance of New York City and comfortable attending the office two to three days per week.
