Job summary

Diversified in Texas seeks a Director of Technical Operations to lead design and integration strategies for diverse clients, drive sales collaboration, and manage budgets and P&L across projects. You will supervise Tech Ops staff, ensure labor estimates are accurate, and align operations with strategic goals.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership in high-technology AV environments, strong budgeting ability, and a track record of guiding teams toward profitable, on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading operations functions including experience in high technology, electronics/AV focused manufacturing/integration environment, or IT.
• Two years leadership experience including P&L responsibility

Responsibilities

• Provide best in class customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Meet financial targets by managing operating expenses and maximizing revenue.
• Approves all labor estimates before they are sent out.
• Assigns and/or delegates quoting support to Tech Ops staff as needed.
• Provides leadership, trains, supports, motivates, directs and retains Tech Ops staff.
• Responsible for personnel management including hiring, terminations, and compensation reviews.
• Develop Tech Ops strategies, assist with fiscal Operating plan and departmental budgets.
• Establish departmental goals & objectives.
• Assist with staffing requirements as part of operational planning/budgeting.
• Coordinate, assign, and prioritize the activities of all Tech Ops personnel.
• Participate in development, acquisition, and validation of new processes for manufacturing, assembly, sourcing, procurement logistics.
• Coordinate activities for Service to ensure all systems requiring support are included.
• Maintain and measure employees' performance against standards.
• Approve timesheets and expense reports.
• Ensure training objectives are met for all direct reports.
• Maintain a master schedule of all project timelines and assigned resources.
• Participate in internal project meetings to ensure proper hand off from Sales to PM and project team.
• Travel as required.
• Ensure compliance in Quality Assurance program.
• Understand the process for validation to include software.
• Establish reporting structure and responsibilities and authority assigned to each position.
• Provide monthly billing and Revenue forecasts to accounting.
• Provide and support appropriate operating structure for team success including meeting cadence and 1:1s.
• Provide leadership to other divisions including M&E, ESS and Structured Cabling.
• Promote safe and positive working environment and cross-department collaboration.
• Create partnership between sales and operations and business leaders of each AVE office.
• Hold regular meetings with Tech Ops Management Team to improve process and profitability.
• Own Tech Ops portions of the P&L for the Mid Atlantic AVE.
• Review Mid Atlantic budget reports and performance.
• Maximize resource utilization across all specialties and load balance projects.
• Create and administer training programs for new hires and staff resources.
• Collaborate with AVE Territories and Divisions for cross territory projects.
