Job summary

Active Security is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the operations organization and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of security integration projects for commercial and federal clients. The role partners with executive leadership to translate company goals into practical plans, drive margins, labor utilization, cash flow, and backlogs, and maintain safety and contract compliance across programs.

Hybrid role based in Sterling, VA with responsibilities spanning policy development,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. MBA preferred.
10+ years in operations, project delivery, or field services with 5+ years in management.
Experience in security/tech integration with DoD/Federal awareness.
Proven ability to scale operations and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

Set operational strategy, goals, and annual plans aligned with growth objectives.
Lead and develop operations managers and coordinators; build leadership bench.
Own budgets, forecasting, project margins, and labor utilization.
Establish KPIs and dashboards for executive leadership and governance.
Plan workforce capacity and hiring to match backlog and pipeline.
Collaborate with Business Development on capture strategy and pricing.
Develop relationships with customers, partners, and subcontractors; negotiate agreements.
Define and enforce policies, standards, and safety programs; ensure compliance.
Lead selection and implementation of operational systems and tools to enable scale.
Oversee facilities, inventory, and logistics for field execution.
