Job summary

Owen J. Roberts School District is seeking an Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning to support curriculum, instruction, staff development, and educational technology across the district. The role emphasizes coordination and leadership in K-12 programs.

The position reports to the District Superintendent and requires strong state and federal program oversight, with responsibilities for supervision and policy implementation at multiple levels.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and five years of administrative experience; Doctorate preferred.
• Superintendent's Eligibility required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; and to write reports and manuals.
• Effective interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts.
• Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.
• Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in the administration and coordination of the district's educational program.
• Manage Curriculum Development, Instruction Process, Educational Technology, and Staff Development.
• Supervise K-12 Principals.
• Review curriculum on a systematic schedule and implement new curricula and programs.
• Liaise with Curriculum and Special Education Committee.
• Administer textbook selection, adoption, and federal program applications.
• Oversee instructional processes and data-driven decisions for instruction.
• Oversee district assessment and staff development processes.
• Maintain liaison with educational leaders at county, state, regional, and national levels.
• Represent the Superintendent at meetings and conferences and assume duties when needed.
