Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks an Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for the Owen J. Roberts School District.

The role assists the Superintendent in daily operations across curriculum, instruction, staff development, and educational technology. The successful candidate will supervise K-12 principals, oversee curriculum revision cycles, implement new programs, and serve as a liaison to committees.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree plus five years' administrative experience. Doctorate preferred.
• Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, journals, procedures or regulations; write reports and manuals.
• Effective interpersonal skills with administrators, teachers, parents, students and staff.
• Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• PA School Personnel Health form submission.
• Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in the administration and coordination of the district's educational program.
• Manage Curriculum Development, Instruction, Educational Technology and Staff Development.
• Supervise K-12 Principals.
• Review curriculum on a scheduled basis for revision.
• Implement new curricula and programs.
• Liaise to Curriculum and Special Education Committee.
• Administer textbook selection and adoption program.
• Administer federal program applications and administration.
• Oversee instructional process and data-driven decision making.
• Oversee educational technology resources and usage to support instruction.
• Oversee district assessment process to inform instruction.
• Oversee staff development for professional staff.
• Maintain liaison with educational leaders at county, state, regional and national levels.
• Represent the Superintendent at meetings and conferences.
