Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Manager of Systems Engineering in Wilmington, MA to lead architecture, requirements management, and verification for advanced semiconductor inspection platforms. This role drives roadmap, governance, and cross-functional collaboration to translate market needs into executable system requirements.

The position requires travel up to 40% and offers a base salary and annual bonus opportunities, plus long-term incentives within a supportive, growth-oriented team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with complex semiconductor equipment or high-technology platforms.
• Expertise in requirements management, systems architecture, interface control, verification and validation, and risk management.
• Strong business judgment and executive communication skills; ability to influence across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the systems engineering roadmap for inspection and metrology platforms; architecture, interfaces, verification strategy.
• Build and manage a high-performing systems engineering team with scalable processes for traceability and design reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, field service, product management, and customers to translate needs into system requirements.
• Lead resolution of cross-subsystem issues and align engineering execution with schedule, cost, and commitments.
