Job summary

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing, a current RN license, and several years of DIRECTOR-level surgical services experience. CNOR and CSSM are preferred qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of RECENT Director of Surgical Services experience required in an acute care hospital setting.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation required
• CNOR preferred
• CSSM preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify real/potential problems affecting the service and implement solutions with follow through and communication.
• Participate in service, departmental and hospital-wide committees, providing ongoing communication to those you represent.
• Advance the customer experience in Surgical Services.
• Coach subordinates through feedback, development plans, and performance documentation.
• Adhere to Human Resource policies and communicate information to staff.
• Build relationships and networks to deliver department goals.
• Develop, prioritize and defend capital equipment requests.
• Responsible for department's operational excellence and fiscal management.
