Winona Health is seeking a Director of Surgery to lead the Surgical Specialty Services Admin, overseeing the PAA, ORs, PACU, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing. The role includes fiscal management, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives, while supporting physicians and caregivers to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Current MN RN license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 5 years of surgery department experience
• Minimum 3 years of management experience
• Knowledge of surgery business operations and leadership
• Strong planning and resource management
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience with Cerner or patient information databases (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead the surgical departments and operational performance for PAA, ORs, PACU, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing
• Support physicians, nursing, and caregivers; ensure patient safety and quality
• Oversee fiscal management and forecast for surgery and resource stewardship
• Develop and maintain workforce competencies and safety; manage performance
• Collaborate with leadership, medical staff, and caregivers to improve processes and systems
• Ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
