Job summary

Virnig Manufacturing seeks a Director of Supply Chain to lead purchasing, planning, inventory, and supplier management across multiple locations. You will develop sourcing strategies, optimize costs, and align material availability with production needs and growth goals.

The role requires 7+ years in supply chain with 3+ years in leadership, a bachelor's in a related field, and strong ERP/MRP experience to drive continuous improvements and supplier development.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in supply chain, materials management, or related manufacturing ops.
• 3+ years in a leadership role overseeing teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; APICS CPIM/CSCP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing, materials, inventory, and supply planning across multiple locations.
• Develop and execute sourcing and supplier strategies to improve cost, quality, and lead time.
• Manage supplier selection, negotiations, performance, and development.
• Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering to source prototype components and suppliers for new products.
• Develop inventory strategies balancing availability, investment, and working capital.
• Oversee on-hand, vendor-stored, and vendor-managed inventories; improve ERP/MRP usage.
• Identify supply chain risks and address shortages and disruptions.
• Drive cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and improve purchasing policies, processes, and KPIs.
