Job summary

Wayzata Public Schools seeks a Director of Student Support Services to lead Special Education, Multilingual Learners, 504 plans, and related health services. You will oversee program administration, budgeting, and compliance to ensure FAPE and high-quality services for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Director of Special Education License is required.
• Master's Degree or equivalent work in Special Education and Administration.
• Minimum of 4 years of supervision/leadership experience in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Directs administration of all Student Support Services programs including Special Education, Multilingual Learners, 504, Mental Health and related health services.
• Prepares and monitors budget; handles state and federal fiscal reporting.
• Maintains private records on pupils served and related data; requests for program funding.
• Plans transportation systems for pupils with disabilities; evaluates programs.
• Directs identification and evaluation of students with disabilities and ensures FAPE.
• Oversees hiring, placement, and supervision of student support staff; provides leadership to Special Education Supervisor team.
• Advises Superintendent and board on policy related to special services; coordinates with principals and external agencies.

Education

Minnesota Director of Special Education License

Master's Degree or equivalent work in Special Education and Administration

Minimum of 4 years experience supervising/leading in Special Education
