Job summary

Millikin University in Decatur, IL seeks a Director of Student Success to lead advising, retention, and academic support services from enrollment to graduation. You will report to the Dean of Academic Services and University Registrar and shape programs that promote persistence and degree completion.

Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to advance student success, ensure ADA compliance, manage budgets, and supervise seven staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or related field is required.
• Three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education is required.
• Demonstrated strong supervisory experience is required.
• Experience leading advising, academic support, and/or retention programs is preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Student Success Center and related services.
• Manage departmental budgets, assessment activities, policies, procedures, and reporting.
• Develop and evaluate programs that support student success and retention.
• Ensure accessibility services meet ADA and related regulations.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to promote equitable access and timely accommodation implementation.
• Lead advising initiatives and student success strategies.
• Support retention through data-informed interventions.
• Oversee tutoring, supplemental instruction, study tables, and other academic programs.
• Support first-year and transition programs in collaboration with campus partners.
