Job summary

Sourcewell is seeking a Director of Strategy and Capabilities to set strategy and drive cross-functional capabilities that connect people, processes, data, and technology to client value and revenue. You will lead teams to implement strategic initiatives across the enterprise and oversee resource planning and policy development.

The role requires nine years of strategic planning and leadership experience, with a focus on partnerships, P&L management, and business development.

Position Title:Director of Strategy and CapabilitiesSalary Range:Director of Strategy and Capabilities (Grade 19, Exempt). Annual salary range: $154,400 – $193,000. This range reflects the minimum to midpoint of the grade. Salary may exceed the midpoint and will commensurate with experience.Job Description Summary:The Director of Strategy and Capabilities is responsible for setting the strategy, direction, and implements tactics for how Enterprise Solutions grows. This position will define the cross-functional capabilities that connect people, process, data, and technology to client value and revenue, and directing the teams that bring them to life.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of strategy, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities and ensuring integration with wider functional strategy.Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources and assets being managed within a significant area or department.Develop functional or operational policies and help develop policy frameworks for area of responsibility or department. Take responsibility for creating underlying procedures and monitoring their implementation.Participate in formulating the strategy and identifying, evaluating, and structuring key transactions to ensure continued financial health and maximum value creation through the entire product life cycle. Transactions may involve alliances, collaborations, mergers and acquisitions, in- and out-licensing initiatives, and other activities.Develop and propose annual business plans for a given area or department, ensuring alignment with strategy. Recommend financial and headcount budgets; propose business targets, for example, revenues or other key performance indicators (KPIs); and schedule key activities/projects, ensuring integration with other elements of the organization.Make authoritative recommendations about technical or professional solutions that would significantly improve organization performance.Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these tenets and do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.Guide a midsize team to align around decisions informed by the integration of diverse perspectives, handling conflicts that may arise from the various ways in which people are different.Develop stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders; by finding out their needs, issues, and concerns; and by reacting to these needs, issues, and concerns to support the communication of business information and decisions.Develop and/or deliver elements of a strategic planning system with guidance from senior colleagues.Manage budget plans for a department. May involve development or delivery or both.Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs.
