Job summary

Cliff House Maine is seeking a Stewarding Department leader to oversee ordering, control and inventory of china, glass and silver, while upholding sanitation standards. You will manage day-to-day back-of-house operations from a cleaning and sanitation perspective.

The role emphasizes HACCP documentation, coordination with kitchen teams, and cost controls. A strong communicator who can lead staff and ensure safety will thrive in this position.

Qualifications

• Flexibility with schedule and hours due to demanding business.
• Experience in food and beverage, leadership preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical handling.
• Ability to create positive guest experiences.
• Strong spoken and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all kitchens to support back and front of the house operations.
• Ensure timely delivery of clean, sanitized equipment to requisition.
• Maintain cleanliness of all back-of-house food and beverage areas.
• Control use, movement, and storage of hazardous cleaning chemicals.
• Manage operations and labor costs against budget.
• Lead stewarding team and communicate effectively.
• Coordinate opening and closing procedures.
• Develop job descriptions and SOPs for efficiency.
• Communicate with peers, management, and team members.
• Maintain sanitation and HACCP docs per health codes.
• Develop equipment specs with F&B for safety and efficiency.
