Job summary

UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research seeks a SciEd Director to lead the Science Education program across lifelong learning audiences. You will shape strategy, manage staff, and foster collaboration with UCAR/NCAR leadership, sponsors, and partners.

The role emphasizes program development, budget oversight, and ensuring scientific accuracy of outputs, while championing an inclusive, ethical culture across UCAR Community Programs.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a UCAR-relevant science or education field.
• Ten or more years of leadership experience in STEM education.
• Three years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads SciEd program with priorities and strategies in consultation with community, sponsors, and leaders.
• Oversees recruitment, support, and retention of staff; mentors and conducts performance management.
• Promotes engagement with strategic partners and external agencies; enhances visibility of UCAR SciEd programs.
• Represents UCP/UCAR in leadership discussions; coordinates with UCAR operations and external partners.
